Well it’s April 18th and tax season is winding down, Typical of the cobbler whose children have no shoes, I filed my extension today. Wasn’t it great for the IRS to extend the due date for another three days! I figure it will be October before my return gets done and it drives my wife crazy.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to speak at the National Club Association Regional Conference at Muirfield Village Golf Club. It was great meeting with my friends in the Ohio Valley Chapter and the response to the presentations was great. Nicholas LaRocca was an outstanding host and the club looked great.
Next week I will be speaking at this year’s National Club Conference in Washington D.C on April 28-29, 2011. I will be sitting on a panel of experts poised to address a wide range of topics including legal liability, protecting a clubs’ private status, financial trends and tax issues, governance matters and enhancing membership development and engagement through effective use of member communications. The description states that you are supposed to challenge the experts. We will be ready for you.
The conference will begin with a gala reception and dinner celebrating NCA’s golden anniversary at the Chevy Chase Club. The venue is perfect for networking and enjoying the company of old friends, sharing stories of NCA’s past, and escaping back to the 60s with nostalgic music played by a live band.
The conference will continue Friday, April 29th at the Park Hyatt Washington with educational sessions featuring up-to-the-minute insight from industry leaders on the latest and greatest in trends, technology, legal, financial, governance and communications topics affecting the private club industry.
If you have not yet, you can still register for the conference at http://www.nationalclub.org
