Nicholas “Nick” Preusch, CPA, JD, LLM, a tax manager at PBMares, LLP – a leading public accounting and consulting firm serving clients nationally and internationally – has been honored as one of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (VSCPA) Top 5 Under 35 for 2017.

The Top 5 Under 35 award recognizes young VSCPA members who have shown excellence in one or more of the following: professional achievement, VSCPA chapter accomplishment, community contribution, or dedication to the CPA profession.

“This well-deserved recognition highlights the contribution Nick has already made to the industry, our firm and our clients who appreciate his keen insight and specialty tax knowledge,” says Alan Witt, CPA, CEO of PBMares, LLP. “He represents the future of accounting and we are proud to have him as a member of our team,” Witt continued.

Preusch joined PBMares in 2014 and performs tax and consulting services for high wealth individuals and business entities. Prior to PBMares, he was also the lead attorney on several tax ethics cases for the Internal Revenue Service. He earned his LLM degree in Taxation from Georgetown University, Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University, Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Connecticut, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Carthage College. Preusch is also an adjunct professor with the University of Mary Washington.

He has been published in the AICPA’s Journal of Accountancy, National Association of Tax Preparer’s TAXPRO Journal, the CCH’s Journal of Tax Practice and Procedure, and co-authored the textbook Tax Preparer Penalties and Circular 230 Enforcement, just to name a few.
