As his own father was a CPA, Dick Smith fell into accounting quite naturally. He truly enjoys his work and derives his greatest career satisfaction from helping his clients succeed.

Dick is a nine-time recipient of Virginia Business magazine’s Super CPA recognition for the categories of Business Valuation/Litigation Support, Small Business Consulting and Assurance Services. In addition to his CPA license, he has earned the AICPA Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential. He was previously on the board of directors of the VSCPA.

Dick is an active member of the Williamsburg community. He volunteers his time and professional skills to the Rotary Club of Williamsburg Foundation (current board member and secretary), Wit and Wisdom Chowder Society (member and past president), Williamsburg Health Foundation (past board member and audit committee chairman), Literacy for Life (advisory committee member) and Williamsburg Landing Retirement Community (past board member, president and treasurer).

In his leisure time, Dick is happiest when traveling, reading and sailing.
