Virginia-based CPA and Consulting Firm recognized in a specialty ranking
In its 2024 ranking of the Top 100 Firms, Accounting Today has named PBMares to its Leaders in Tax specialty category. While the Firm has been ranked among the Top 100 since 2018, including as one of the top firms in the Capital Region, this is the first time that PBMares has earned the specialty designation as a Leader in Tax. As reported in the rankings, the Firm’s fee split for Tax services comprises 49 percent of overall net revenue.
Leaders in Tax are ranked by revenue, with eight firms each in three categories: more than $1 billion, more than $100 million, and less than $100 million. Among the seven other Tax Leaders with revenue of less than $100 million, PBMares is the only firm headquartered in the Capital Region, which comprises Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.

The specialty ranking for Leaders in Tax was part of Accounting Today’s annual ranking of Top 100 Firms. PBMares improved its position and advanced six spots, to 75th overall.
