TITLE: Partner
LOCATION: New Bern

Jeff Williams grew up in an entrepreneurial family and was exposed to accounting and bookkeeping at an early age. Accounting came naturally to him, and his work grew into a passion for helping those facing financial challenges and helping them make smart decisions, so they pay the least amount of tax legally allowable.

As a former managing partner for a national firm’s New Bern, North Carolina location, Jeff has more than 35 years of experience during which time he has developed tax solutions and created strategies for many well-known manufacturing and wholesale distribution, real estate and retail businesses throughout North Carolina and the Southeast. During his tenure, he has also provided tax planning and compliance services for a variety of individuals and privately held businesses, as well as auto parts dealers throughout the United States.

He loves the challenge of understanding constantly changing tax laws and figuring out ways to apply those laws to save money for his clients. Partnering with clients and helping them improve their financial results motivates him and provides a great deal of job satisfaction. He also advises clients on succession and estate planning and enjoys mentoring new staff so they learn, advance and grow throughout their careers.

Jeff’s community involvement nearly rivals his professional contributions. He is a board member, serving on the executive leadership committee, and immediate past president of the Craven Community College Foundation, a budget and audit committee member for the New Bern Civitan Club (where he is a past president), a past committee member for the New Bern Heart Ball and a Circle of Champions supporter for Boys and Girls Clubs. He is also a past member of the budget and audit committee of Riverdale United Methodist Church and still works with the committee annually. His personal passions have led him to serve as a rest stop volunteer each year with the PBMares team during the New Bern MS Bike Ride.

Jeff and his wife, Penny, have three adult children, two grandchildren and a black lab, Allie. He enjoys duck hunting, which led him to serve as chairman (past) and committee member for New Bern Ducks Unlimited, as well as fishing, participating in and watching sports, stargazing, enjoying the calm of rain, time at the beach, reading and most forms of music.
