Comprehending numbers and financial strategies can be intimidating for some people. Understanding this, Ashley uses her knowledge and skills to connect with people, simplify the complex, and help them make smart decisions that will positively impact their personal and business tax situations.

As a member of the firm’s state and local tax group, Ashley spends her days serving the tax needs of high-net worth individuals, partnerships, closely held businesses, and large multi-state companies in a variety of industries. Additionally, she is PBMares’ resident expert on agricultural taxation where her years growing up on a Shenandoah Valley farm give her a unique and empathetic perspective her clients appreciate. She is known to analyze the frequent tax legislation changes to determine its impact on her clients and how they should respond to realize both short- and long-term benefits. Prior to joining PBMares, she gained valuable experience in real estate and professional services taxation as a senior accountant for a large public accounting firm in Washington DC.

PBMares’ clients aren’t the only ones who have noticed Ashley’s prowess. She was named in the Shenandoah Valley Business Journal as one of the Top 10 business leaders who have gone above and beyond in 2020 and is a graduate of the prestigious 2017-2019 Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce’s Building Optimal Leaders by Design (BOLD) program.

Outside of work, Ashley believes in giving back to the community that has supported her as a board member of First Step – A Response to Domestic Violence. She also enjoys spending her spare time raising her two boys.
