David Bush oversees the management of more than $500 million firmwide in assets, providing exceptional care to clients through PBMares Wealth Management by managing wealth enhancement, wealth protection, wealth transfer and charitable giving. Additionally, he provides financial guidance to businesses, estates and trusts, and qualified retirement plans.

In addition to his CPA, David is a licensed Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Personal Financial Specialist. He quickly became weary of watching brokers and insurance companies take advantage of tax clients and earned his CFP so he could speak to them about such matters with authority. He knows financial markets can seem confusing and has a way of taking a complex situation and putting it in plain English to make it easy for clients to understand.

While David was always good with math, his greatest fulfillment in his career is seeing clients smile and feel a sense of relief. He enjoys showing his clients their options to reach their financial goals and helping them feel secure in the fact that their money can serve their needs now and in the future. He is a 10-time recipient of Virginia Business magazine’s Super CPA recognition for his work in the Personal Financial Planning practice category.

David is extremely devoted to serving the Williamsburg community he loves. He contributes his time and skills to the Williamsburg Land Conservancy, Superintendent’s Business Advisory Council, Chesapeake Bank, Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance, Lead Historic Triangle Alumni, Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg and the Williamsburg Health Foundation. In addition, he was previously active with Williamsburg Landing and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Williamsburg.

David’s love of Williamsburg is partly due to its rich history. He originally wanted to be an archaeologist and would love to go on a dig someday. He enjoys running and has been doing so three miles every morning for 40 years, rain or shine.

"I enjoy being a trusted advisor and helping clients secure a future that includes ensuring their money serves their needs now and in the future. A big part of that is ensuring they don’t outlive their money."
