Robert K. Parker III, CPA

TITLE: Partner
LOCATION: Wilmington

Not everyone looks back on losing a job as a positive turning point, but not everyone is wired like Robert. With original aspirations of managing resorts and hotels, he was laid off from his first job in that industry after six months. To make ends meet, he took a job at a local branch of a large national bank where he discovered how much he enjoyed building relationships, working with customers, and surprisingly, accounting. He promptly returned to college and the rest is history.

Joining PBMares in 2022, with more than 12 years of accounting experience, Robert provides financial and compliance audit services to a variety of private and public sector clients, including those in industrial and commercial manufacturing, professional services, not-for-profits, private clubs, and employee benefit plans. No two days are alike, but he can often be found advising clients on complex accounting matters, assisting his colleagues with audits, and ensuring that audit reports comply with professional standards. On top of that, his background in hospitality and commercial tourism gives him an added level of expertise when working with many of the private clubs in North Carolina.

Robert was chosen to participate in the prestigious Leadership Wilmington, an organization with the mission of informing, developing and engaging committed leaders by broadening their understanding of and involvement in issues and opportunities facing North Carolina.

A proud member of the Wolfpack, Robert is a member of the North Carolina State’s Alumni Association and Wolfpack Club. He is also a member of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington’s Alumni Association.

In his free time, he enjoys golfing, boating on the beautiful coastal waters, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
