Firm Ranks 77th Nationally and Earns Multiple Top 5 Spots for Firms Under $100M
According to the 2026 Accounting Today Top 100 ranking, PBMares advanced to 77th place nationally due to the Firm’s year-over-year revenue increase of 17.72%. Among firms with revenue up to $100 million, PBMares was second in the Leader in Tax category and, for the first time in 2026, ranked fourth as a Pacesetter in growth. Additionally, PBMares has been ranked the third largest firm in the Capital Region, which includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia.
PBMares’ merger with Fairfax-based BSB CPAs + Advisors at the end of 2024 helped to drive growth in 2025 and outpace the average revenue increase of comparable firms. Mergers and acquisitions were a major factor in many Top 100 firms’ 2025 expansion strategy, with 225 mergers reported for the year, a 54.2% increase from 2024.
